Welcome to Parish Life at Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish! We offer a wide variety of ministries, fellowship groups, social events, learning opportunities and other programs and events that enrich our culture and spiritual lives. Our activities are open to all parishioners and their guests, friends and families.
We are committed to providing inclusive, educational, and spiritually enriching opportunities for everyone who walks through our doors. We are excited you have taken some time with us, and we pray God continues to bless you and your family!
VIRTUS Training
Saint Thomas maximizes our church’s role as a child-safe environment, which begins with making adults more aware of the ways children and adults interact. The Protecting God’s Children program (VIRTUS Training) educates and trains adults (clergy, religious, teachers, staff, volunteers, and parents) about the dangers of, warning signs of and ways to prevent abuse, the methods of properly reporting abuse suspicions, and responding to abuse allegations.
Parishioners and staff who are called to volunteer with parish children and youth are required to attend VIRTUS Training and have a background check. For a list of training times, go to www.virtusonline.org and select Registration and then View a list of sessions.
For information regarding a VIRTUS training and/or a background check, please contact Pam Strobel, Parish Life Coordinator, at (616) 459-4662 ext. 1203 or pamstrobel@stthomasgr.org.
