Saint Thomas has a long history of working to achieve social justice through a variety of programs and projects. The former Social Justice Advocacy Group (SJAG) led this effort at Saint Thomas for many years. The newly formed Social Justice Advocacy Ministry (SJAM) will continue this work, so crucial to the mission of the Catholic Church and our Catholic faith. On Wednesday, August 6th, SJAM will hold a kick-off meeting and annual planning session in the Community Room of the Ministry Center from 6:30 -8:00 p.m. Everyone with a passion for seeking social justice is encouraged to come. At this meeting we will begin to observe, ask and strategize plans to grow as a community of salt (of the earth) and light (for the world) as we strive to be transformed through a life-giving relationship with God and our neighbor. Saint Thomas parishioners have the gifts, wisdom and faith that are necessary to advocate for the poor in our community and throughout our larger society. Please consider attending our planning session and commit to the Catholic tradition of working for peace and justice for all. Thank you!
