The EPIC Middle School Youth Group will meet in the GYM from 6 – 7:30 pm on Saturday, January 13! The bulletin mentioned the Church Lower Level, but the reception to honor Deacon Bevins will be held there after the 5 pm Mass.

 

Reception to Honor Deacon Bevins This Weekend

Deacon David Bevins will preach at all Masses this weekend, Jan. 13 -14, here at Saint Thomas before he begins his assignment at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish. Please join us for a reception in his honor after all Masses to congratulate him and his wife, Julie, on the beginning of his service as a deacon.

9 Days for Life Novena – January 16-24

In prayerful recognition of the lives that have been lost and broken because of abortion, the U.S. Bishops invite Catholics and others across the nation to participate in nine days of prayer, penance and pilgrimage (Jan. 16-24). Join Bishop Walkowiak for the Mass for Life
Monday, January 22 – 7 pm Cathedral of Saint Andrew
All are encouraged to join Bishop Walkowiak to pray for the legal protection of unborn children. Those attending Mass are invited to bring a donation for baby pantries in Grand Rapids and Muskegon run by Catholic Charities West Michigan.
Catholics also are encouraged to pray for an end to abortion during the Nine Days for Life novena beginning Thursday, Jan. 16.  Find the daily intentions in English and Spanish at usccb.org/ resources/9-days-life-novena.

Natural Family Planning

Are you preparing for marriage or looking into Natural Family Planning (NFP) options? The Franciscan Life Process Center invites you to Introduction to Natural Family Planning (NFP) on January 24 at 5:30 pm at the Grand Rapids campus, 654 Davis Ave., NW.   This one-time session covers the basics of how NFP works and highlights the differences between methods. Exploring Priesthood Discernment Meetings

Discernment is a time of obtaining spiritual guidance and understanding. If you are considering the priesthood, the Diocese of Grand Rapids invites you to meet with other young men (ages 16+) to gather and discern God’s will for your life.

Meetings will take place from 12:30 – 1:30 pm at St. Stephen Parish,
750 Gladstone Dr. S.E., East Grand Rapids and are offered on the following Sundays in 2024: Jan. 28, Feb. 18, March 10, and April 21. Just show up or email Pattie Reynolds,
